Laughter, mixed with inspiration, fills Barbara Eubanks’ devotional books and humorous presentations today.  Much life and many experiences have brought Eubanks to this point.

Barbara Eubanks is a minister's wife, Sunday school teacher, high school English/journalism teacher (retired, 2005), writer, Christian humorist, conference leader, mother to three adult sons, and grandmother to eight. She earned a B.A. from Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama, and an M.A. and Ed.S. from the University of Alabama. She and her husband, Rev. Steve Eubanks, now reside on a family farm near Albertville, Alabama. Her family, friends and experiences have proved to be great resources for humorous anecdotes for her first two books and for her speaking events. Barbara realizes that happiness and joy are essential for spiritual, physical, and emotional health.  Through her speaking events, she reminds listeners that God wants his children to be happy.  Her desire to glorify God permeates her work and life.

Author Barbara Eubanks’ first book, Humorous Happenings in Holy Places (Tate Publishing, Dec. 2004), combines true humorous, church-related anecdotes with uplifting devotions.  This books success has opened for her a career as a Christian humorist; she schedules fifty to seventy engagements a year.  Her life experiences and contacts as a minister’s wife and as an English teacher add to her qualifications for writing this novel and provide a built-in market. Eubanks’ career as a Christian humorist and conference leader increases book sales.

Eubanks’ second novel has also gained great attention and has sold well. And the Angels Laughed, also published by Tate Publishing and following the same format as the first, was released December 2006.  This book carries an endorsement by Cecil Murphey, her friend and the co-author of Ninety Minutes in Heaven.

Eubanks is member of the Christian Writers Guild, The Lit Chicks (a literary critique group), Kappa Kappa Iota, and other professional organizations.  She teaches Sunday school and is an active member of the Baptist church her husband pastors.  She has attended Jerry B. Jenkins Writing for the Soul conferences for several years, as well as CLASS writing conference.  Eubanks has been a presenter at the Gulf Coast National Writing Conference held at the Grand Hotel in Point Clear, Alabama.

In addition to authoring these books, Barbara has contributed a chapter, “Just say Wow!,” to Wayne Holmes book, Whispering in God’s Ear, WaterBrook Press, August 2005, and the chapter “Transitioning into Retirement” to 101 Great Ways To Improve Your Life-Vol. lll., Self Growth.Com, February 2007.  Barbara has also written many articles that have been published both locally and nationwide.  She has written an unit of Sunday school lessons for LifeWay for youth for June 2008.  Eubanks writes a monthly column, Humor in Holy Places, for Anniston/Gadsden Christian Family magazine and Sand Mountain Living magazine.
